#WewillrebuildDominica Tropical Storm Erica

Hi,
My name is Georgette George-Wilson. I am from an island called Dominica. Last spring break an opportunity came up to help a community that needed assistance after they suffered so much after hurricane Katrina. I received an email that asked for volunteers and while I didn't quite understand my decision, I knew that I was born to serve. So I signed up to volunteer, to do what I was born to do. I went on the alternative breaks in Biloxi, Ms, and my life was forever changed by the experience that I was exposed to. It was there that I met a group of ladies from ‪#‎Sueshouse‬ who opened my eyes and heart to the true meaning of volunteering and doing for others that may not look like me, be like me or even speak like me. It was my pleasure to have done a great service to a community that greatly needed the assistance. Since coming I have started a ministry called i‪#‎dayzafter‬. Its about helping women and children rebuild and love again after bring taken from their home by the system. As I write you this, my heart is hurting for my country that has been devastated by ‪#‎TSERICA‬. I have so many family members back home, and some that I have never met but as a small knit community I consider them all my family. They are greatly in needed if assistance to help rebuild. I know there may not be much that you can do, but as my team mates I just wanted you to know how my heart is hurting for my island ‪#‎Dominica‬. PLEASE say a prayer for my island and keep them always in your mind as ‪#‎WewillREBUILDominica‬.

SINCERELY

MSSW candidate 2016

I have set up a gofundme account to help assist a family in restoring electricity to their home.  The young lady once had a small barber shop in the basement of the home, when the water came in all the equipment and things that were in the shop was damaged included the electrical outlets.  Now i believe if each one of us reading this blog donate $1 then we can give this family back the opportunity to restore services and to continue to provide the service of cutting hair back into the community and to the country and a small business owner.

Let help bring back electricity to the John's Home
