It's been a while.since I've been here. Wanted to update you on some things. I can feel the victory. I can feel that overwhelming power of freedom. When I set out to start this ministry, I didn't have a dime. I didn't have anything but a vision. Through that vision I have been able to tell people about what it is that I wanted and was looking for, which created the logo for dayzafter. "Like branches on a tree we all have a purpose." My purpose is different from your purpose, but we all have a purpose. Some come into our lives for the purpose of saving us from ourselves. Some come for the purpose of bring solution to pain and destruction, but whatever the purpose is keep putting one foot infront the other. I was lead to a group of women from different states, who meet every Sunday to encourage each other via an app. We pray. We share. We encourage and motivate for the sole purpose of rebuilding each other's strength in trying times. I have been ...

Tips for parents facing Divorce and Separation This week I had to deal with the reality that people don't fight fair when they are hurting. They will do everything to hurt you because they themselves are hurting and can't handle the emotions that are overwhelming and overbearing for them. The question today is, if it's that overbearing and overwhelming for YOU, why would you transfer that to your CHILDREN? Things that you can do to prevent children from being in the middle when going through a Divorce or Separation 1. Fight fair. Don't change the normal routine on purpose out of spite. Children can't handle too many changes at one time, especially if they are very young. 2. Stop making them feel that they need to choose: Don't try to outshine the other parent by seeing who can buy the best or most things. In those critical times treats and tricks is not want brings peace, time and genuine and an ability to be empathetic is...
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: what's the cure?

As we recognize this month as awareness for the fight against domestic Violence we ponder upon the many places in our society where it is not even considered a crime to hit and abuse another human being. I lived with abuse all my life and never really thought of it as a crime as I was immune because the number of years I suffered. The men that vowed to protect me where taking me for granted and I couldn't say much as I was also battling low self-esteem. My journey could have been short lived, but for the grace of God. He came in at the right time and pulled me up on my feet and gave me solid ground to walk on. He gave me peace, forgiveness, healing and restoration. There are many women still today that believe that they don't have a voice in these matters. Women still believe its called love when he puts his hand on you, or women who still believe that if he puts you down that he loves you. There are so many signs that ...

Do you feel that since the children have been gone that your life has been changed upside down? You feel like someone else is holding the strings to your existence? Well many women go through that struggle where they feel that they can't get a handle on what's going on. On January 21st my life changed in the worst way possible. My babies that I had loved for so long were being taken. Through no fault of their own, they were now wards of the state. A situation I promised myself I would never allow my children to have to bear witness to. Along with the changes that was going on with the kids, came my marriage on the rocks. I went from being a newly wed, to a foster mom for two years and then a potential divorcee and my world as I knew it was no more. The blame game started and the constant arguments and then the feeling of betrayal. I truly felt like someone else was holding the strings to my lif...

Hi, My name is Georgette George-Wilson. I am from an island called Dominica. Last spring break an opportunity came up to help a community that needed assistance after they suffered so much after hurricane Katrina. I received an email that asked for volunteers and while I didn't quite understand my decision, I knew that I was born to serve. So I signed up to volunteer, to do what I was born to do. I went on the alternative breaks in Biloxi, Ms, and my life was forever changed by the experience that I was exposed to. It was there that I met a group of ladies from # Sueshouse who opened my eyes and heart to the true meaning of volunteering and doing for others that may not look like me, be like me or even speak like me. It was my pleasure to have done a great service to a community that greatly needed the assistance. Since coming I have started a ministry called i # dayzafter . Its about helping women and children rebuild and love again after bring taken from their home...

Tropical storm Erica has hit the Caribbean Island of Dominica. It is a small island located in the Lesser Antilles. The government is calling on all those abroad to help and lend a hand to rebuild our beautiful nature island. While we already have saturated soil, there goes more bad weather approaching the island. " According to Mr Alexander, a tropical wave is forecast to move across the Lesser Antilles by early tomorrow Saturday, 29 August 2015 “producing an increase in cloudiness, showers and possible isolated thunderstorms and unstable conditions are expected to linger until Sunday morning”. I urge my fellow citizens to take caution and evacuate if you are able to. There are several gofundme accounts set up to assist the island. There are also relief efforts for supplies, and I am sure there will be for water, and human assistance to rebuild. Lets all come together to rebuild our country, there is no division in times of disaster. The ...
