Grief Counseling & Grief Therapy: J William Worden

This month I wanted to deal with grieving. First we want to look at the attachment theory.  Worden (1991) stated that, “before we can fully comprehend the impact of a loss and the human behavior associated with it, one must have some understanding of the meaning of attachment.” (p. 7) Do we believe that grief is a disease?  Or even that mourning is necessary? When a woman loses her child to the system, we often don’t see grief in that situation.  Most time we say she deserved it and just look away.  That she was a bad parent and turn a blind eye.  Does that exclude her from grieving?  As a system we figure our job is to do what’s best for the child once that child is out of danger then the job is done.  So I beg to ask, who looks after the mother, to ensure that the cycle does not repeat itself.  There are four tasks of Mourning that Worden talks about in his book and they are: 1.       To accept the reality of the loss a.       This lady and so many of us have to come to realize t...

Focus

The struggle is real. Being made whole by God does not exclude you from the wiles of the devil. It's when he comes stronger. I just read something that spoke to me in this like test that I had this am and I wanted to share with you my readers. "What you give your attention to will shape  your heart and character. Give attention to the word of God. Give attention to worship. Choose forgiveness, keep your heart pure." -Joel Osten It spoke so much by to me because I get easily angered when I am a struggling with daily issues of keeping up with my finances, staying focused, issues of forgiveness and betrayal . The word is true when he says if you are faithful over little I will make you ruler over many. Lord my prayer today is that you cover me and keep me focused on your word so hat I can stand against the wiles of the devil. Stay encouraged #dayzafter

Encouragement for Healing

It is 4 am, I guess things are looking up because I am up two hours later than normal. Well I got up to a strange request and as I sit and meditate I realize that there are so many women suffering in this world. I am amazed at the things that we have to go through but we know that we have a maker than can see us through those dark days. I Hope to encourage someone with this word this morning. God promised us that he will never leave us nor forsake us, meditate on those thin gs. These verses are encouragement in times of hurt and trouble. bind them on your heart, call on them at a moments notice. 2 Timothy 1:7 Psalm 55:22 1 Peter 5:7 Isa 26:3 - my favorite Psalm 118:14-16 Psalm 119:114-115 Psalm 119:50 Psalm 120:1 The goal of this ministry is to help encourage you. Spiritual awakening

Today was hectic.  I sit here wondering what makes people do the things they do.  I have felt pain before but not to this extent she said,  I hurt all over, the worst is my spiritual pain that I face trying to comprehend how God allows a person to purposely hurt another like this.  well I tell her the bible is clear. " For our wrestling  is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers, against the whole-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." Since she is new at the christian message I am gentle with my approach.  she goes on to say how she feels all these emotions that comes with unfaithfulness and is asking me to pray for her to intercede on her behalf that God covers her and keeps her sane.  I go on to explain that  his word says, " thou will keep thee in perfect peace who's mind is stayed on thee." how many of us go through this type of pain silently because we don't want to seem w...

#SafeHavenLaws

Under Michigan's  safe haven law , a person can anonymously surrender an infant within 72 hours of birth to an emergency service provider, like a hospital, police, or fire station.  Do we believe that people take advantage of this law so that they do not have to take care of their responsibility.  why are others taking advantage of the law and others not? If the law is there why do we  see so many cases of children being found on the sides of roads or in less that perfect conditions and locations?  How are these children doing #dayzafter? what is their life like? Do the moms feel bad for their decisions or have they just moved on? http://www.wzzm13.com/story/news/local/2014/07/28/report-newborn-baby-deserted-in-white-cloud/13271657/ http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/06/17/georgia-man-saves-baby-on-side-road-plays-gospel-music-to-calm-her/
